More proof! The results keep coming in. According to a recent French study published in the European Journal of Nutrition, people who regularly consume a moderate amount of wine are healthier than those who do not drink wine.
The study includes other variables that strongly influence health such as socioeconomic status, lifestyle, exercise and healthy diet. In the final conclusions, researchers have suggested that moderate alcohol consumption may be a general indicator of good social status, something helpful towards optimal health.
Listen up ladies! The authors also discovered during this study that these benefits are highly positive for women in particular. Those who drank moderate amounts of wine had a lower BMI (body mass index), smaller waist, lower blood pressure and less blood lipids (including bad cholesterol).
In the case of men, there are improved symptoms such as BMI, lower heart rate, lower blood pressure and better blood sugar levels – and less stress and depression among regular, moderate wine drinkers.
This study was conducted by a team from the Center for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention in different hospitals in Paris who has studied the habits and health of 150,000 people.
Ta da! It never hurts to have the proof constantly driven home. Speaking of driving home…. Don’t ruin these great statistics by drinking and driving! We are on a positive roll here!
